Need something? There are lots of options when it comes to shopping in Kailua-Kona, Keauhou, and Waikoloa Beach Resort area. Here are some places to visit for all the essentials and for fun.


Kona offers lots of the familiar chain and box stores found on the mainland including Costco, Walmart, Target, and Safeway. Check out Kona Commons, Lanikai, and Kona Crossroads shopping center for grocery and mainstream needs.

For more localized shops head down to Ali’i Drive. Here you’ll find souvenirs at the Kona’s Farmers Market and Kona Inn Shopping Center. Consider parking and wander through local-owned shops and galleries, restaurants and bars, that line this street. Visit for the monthly Kokua Kailua Village Stroll vendors along this famous waterfront street.


When staying on the south end of Alii Drive and the edge of Kona town there are more shopping options. Keauhou Shopping Center has grocery/pharmacy, post office, cinema, as well as local shops and restaurants. Ali’i Gardens Marketplace offers a tropical mix of local artisans and over 20 unique shops.

Waikoloa / Kohala Resort Area

Staying in a Kohala Resort offers all you need close to your vacation rental. In Waikoloa Beach Resort, you can easily walk to Kings’ Shops and Queens’ MarketPlace. The two open air shopping centers with grocer, gas, luxury cinema, rental dive & surf equipment, fitness studio, fast casual food court and world-class dining, in addition to local owned and luxury shops. The resort’s spas and Kings Golf Clubhouse with restaurant, pro shop, and driving range are also open to the public. There’s even the Waikoloa Shopping Trolley and golf shuttle to get you around the Waikoloa Beach Resort.

Venture 4 miles north and left at the palm trees into neighboring Mauna Lani Resort. Here you’ll find the Shops at Mauna Lani for even more dining and shops, including a tiki gallery, specialty grocer, traditional wood carver, and magic show. Watch for wild goats as they love the meandering along roadways between golf course fairways.

Get out of the resorts and take in the coastline uphill 7 miles into Waikoloa Village. Waikoloa Highlands is the main shopping center for the town for gas, post & shipping, local coffee, pharmacy, grocer, and food court. Make a reservation for authentic Italian, nama-stay for yoga, or drive next door to tee off a round of Golf.
